The Quiet Chapter Story
The Quiet Chapter was born from Architect and Interior Designer Rajani Sashikanth’s desire to return to the joy of reading. Growing up surrounded by books and lending libraries, she missed the undistracted experience of turning pages without a phone buzzing nearby. What started as a personal mission to reclaim stillness became a space for many who felt the same.
The Spark
During a trip to Sri Lanka, she realized she’d lost the habit of carrying books while traveling. That moment sparked an idea: What if I could dedicate just some time to myself, to read, free from guilt or interruption? That thought became The Quiet Chapter.
A Space for Connection
This isn’t your typical book club. There’s no required book, no discussions unless you want to. Just time, space, and the comforting company of people who also love to read.
Our Vision
We envision a community that values slow, intentional living. Through storytelling nights, literary pop-ups, art evenings, and online sessions, we hope to nurture deeper connections with ourselves, others, and the written word.

Storytelling & Dine for a Cause - In Collaboration with Serendip Be the Change Foundation
In Jaffna, we collaborated with Serendip Be the Change Foundation for a special storytelling night and dine-for-a-cause initiative. Through ticketed experiences and community participation, funds raised from the event contributed toward supporting children and families through the foundation’s Education Without Hunger program.
As part of the initiative, we also visited and interacted with children supported by the foundation, contributing toward their learning, wellbeing, and self-sustaining farming and gardening efforts. This collaboration was built around creating meaningful experiences while giving back directly to the community.
